Modern Solar Power Plants Operation

What is a Solar Power Plant?

Sun is the primary energy source in the world. Solar energy is the renewable energy source in the world. Basically, a photovoltaic cell or solar panel is used to convert solar energy into electric energy which is called a solar cell or photovoltaic cell and sometimes called a solar panel. We will explain modern solar power plants in the world.

Basically, solar energy falls into a small area by means of a reflector, and solar panel converts solar energy into electrical energy. There are some largest modern solar power plants in the world such as the Ouarzazate Solar Power Station, Solana Generating Station, Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, and other power plants. Modern solar power plant operation is easy due to the updated technology.

Does Solar Panel Generate DC Power?

It is noted that solar panels generate DC electrical energy and convert it into AC electrical energy with the help of an inverter. The inverter is an electronic device that is used to convert DC electrical energy into AC electrical energy. Solar energy is becoming more popular day by day due to the low cost of getting a small amount of energy. It is noted that solar energy is renewable energy and it will never end. Basically, the solar panel can be placed at different places wherever sun energy is available. You can place your solar rooftop where sunlight is available.

What are Solar Panels Made of?

Solar panels are made of crystalline silicon wafers as the main component material, solar panels also consist of many photovoltaic cells. The solar panels are composed of layers of phosphorus, silicon, and carbon. Basically, the photovoltaic cell simply converts cosmic energy into electrical energy. Most people in the world use crystalline silicon material solar panels due to its higher efficiency than some other solar panels.

The solar panel works based on cosmic energy or solar energy. Whenever sunlight falls on the solar panel then the solar panel converts sun energy into electrical energy by its mechanism. We know that current is the flow of electrons. The solar panel works by providing photons to hit the electrons to free from atoms. If the conductors are placed to the positive and negative of the solar cell then the solar cell forms an electric circuit. Whenever an electron flows through the circuit then electricity is generated.

It is noted that solar panels cannot work in the off-sun period. Because world reserve energy (coal, oil, gas) is reducing day by day due to the greater use. Solar energy is a renewable energy source it will never end. Besides solar energy people are also towered to wind energy, nuclear energy, and other renewable energy sources. The renewable energy source will be the leading energy source after three or four hundred years.

Benefits of Solar Energy

The sunlight falls on the solar panels and thermal energy or heat energy is converted into electrical energy. Solar energy use demand is increasing day by day due to its greater benefits. The advantages of solar energy are below:

  • Solar panels and other raw materials are available and these are renewable.
  • The solar panel doesn’t produce smoke or fumes to generate electricity. For this reason, solar energy is Eco-friendly.
  • Solar energy is suitable for every place where sunlight is available. However, it is crucial for the remote areas where the electrical grid is not connected.
  • The solar panel doesn’t create noise because there is no moving part in the solar panel.
  • The construction cost (buying a solar panel, inverter, etc.) is high but it minimizes the running cost. So no need to pay the electricity bill. For this reason, the solar plant is economical
  • Solar power is reliable and renewable energy.

Drawbacks of Solar Energy

My overall consideration, solar energy will be the world’s largest renewable energy source. It is because the world’s reserve of natural energy (coal, oil, gas, etc.) is depleting rapidly and once a time the natural energy will be the end. At one stage the world’s people will depend on renewable energy sources to generate electricity. Though there are lots of advantages of solar energy that we discussed above there are also some disadvantages of solar energy, such as

What is a Floating Solar Power Plant?

We know that solar panels can be placed at any place where sunlight is available. Solar power is the renewable energy source in the world, and it is totally dependent on sunlight. For this reason, it can be placed in any place. A floating solar power plant means that a solar panel is placed on the water to generate electricity.

The location of floating solar power plants in any lake, hydropower reservoir, canal, and other places where no torrents are available. The floating solar power plant consists of four ‘’rafts’’ each with a diameter of about 70 meters and converts a total of over 15,000 square meters with solar panels.

In the floating solar power plant structure bodies of the panel are placed on the water and reduce evaporation from these ponds, reservoirs, and lakes. The floating solar panel shade is provided to reduce the presence of algae flowers in the body of freshwater.

The greatest benefits of such kind of power plant are no loss of land space and no environmental pollution. A small amount of power can be generated from such kinds of panels. Sirindhorn Reservoir is the world’s largest floating solar plant which is located 660 kilometers away from Bangkok.

What is a Solar Thermal Power Plant?

The solar thermal energy power plant is the electricity generation power plant. The solar thermal power plant is one kind of fossil fuel electrical generation power plant. Here solar energy is used to produce high temperatures and generate electricity by converting cosmic energy into electrical energy, but fossil fuel (coal, oil, gas) is used to generate electrical energy. There are three types of solar thermal power plants: solar power towers and solar dishes, engine systems, and linear concentrator systems.

What is a Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant?

Basically, solar cells are made of silicon boules or silicon alloys. The solar photovoltaic power plant or PV plant takes a large place to generate electrical energy by converting sun energy into electrical energy. The solar photovoltaic cells are placed on the roof to meet the household electricity demand.

Most homes or residents use photovoltaic solar panels or PV panels to get electricity in the off-sun period (night, and dark conditions, absence of a high voltage supply system). We know that photovoltaic energy is a clean and rechargeable energy source, and we can get photovoltaic energy at less cost. It is noted that cost is required whenever PV panels install and reinstall devices (inverter, batteries, etc.).

Where Can We Use Solar Energy?

We can use solar energy for different purposes, such as Solar Water Heating, uses for solar energy, Solar Ventilation, Solar Lighting, extension to water heating systems, Solar Heating, Solar Transportation, and Portable Solar. We can also on different purposes than such purposes.
